Top 10 Calorie-Burning Exercises:

.) Sprinting: sprinting burns up to 5 000 calories per hour. Granted, its not possible to sprint at top speed for an hour. Alternating sprinting with jogging will get the metabolic furnace cooking into high gear!

.) Jumping Rope: is one of the most efficient uses of your exercise time. You can burn up to 20 calories per minute with high-intensity rope-jumping.

.)Weight Lifting: lifting weights can burn up to 1 800 calories per hour. That’s the same as running a 6-minute mile pace for an hour straight! That should be reason enough to include it in every fitness regimen.

.) Rowing: High intensity stints on the rowing machine (or in a boat if you have access to that sort of thing) are great for burning calories. Try alternating between all out intensity and lower intensity for 30-40 minutes for the ultimate calorie burn.

.)Swimming: Swimming sprints of 100m or less burns up to 25 calories per minute. This is a great option for those who have impact injuries in their knees, shins or ankles from running. Try the butterfly if you can; it burns the most calories of any stroke.

.)Cross-Country Skiing: One hour of vigorous cross-country skiing burns over 1,500 calories! If you have a place to do this, try it out for a quick route to physical fitness.

.) Sledgehammer Slams: Slamming a sledgehammer is starting to become a popular means of achieving a strong and healthy body; and for good reason! Sledgehammer slams can burn around 20 calories per minute and even more if you are at max intensity.

.) Kettlebell Swings: This old school exercise is great for burning fat, as well as strengthening the core, hamstrings and glutes. Perform these for sets of 100 with a fairly heavy bell.

.) Boxing: Take out your aggression by punching another person! It’s perfect. Not only will this do wonders for your stress levels, but it burns calories at a rate of 1,400 per hour.

.) Sled Pushing: Sled Pushing is a great way to get in shape. It can build strength, conditioning and mental toughness. Either push the sled slower with heavier weights, or run sprints with it while loading it with lower weights; either one will burn calories rapidly.
